MY EXPERIENCE DURING MY ATTACHMENT PERIOD

 Attachment is compulsory in academic course and is meant for students to put on practice what they were taught in class.

I got an opportunity to do my three months attachment at a radio station known as sauti ya pwani fm  from 9th January to 31st of march where I got a privilege to learn alot and also faced some challenges as a an attachee and as a leaner. My first day at the station I was introduced to different departments such as production room, newsroom and on air where news are read.As days moved by the supervisor instructed someone to teach me how news are written,edited and also how to use adobe audition. 

At first I didn't gain confidence but later on I overcomed it.My supervisor started assigning me duties such as going to the field,reporting news and interviewing. I got to overcome my shyness the moment I was exposed to the field and it made me gained courage and love what I was doing.I was also given a chance to attend press releases and other media occasions. Where I gained and learned alot. 

As we know that everything has challenges,personally I faced some challenges during that period.The challenges include using my own money as transport when going out for stories since we were not provided,unavailability if machines which made me to do my assigned work late,sexual harassment being one of the worse challenge that I faced and i hated that. I reported that and I was told that I should be careful when socialising with the staff for my own safety and I should not avoid them since I went there for learning purposes which would help me in future.At the end of the attachment I gained alot of skills.
